A.S.I.G.N Observatory Telescope Basics (ATB) lessons.
Have you just purchased your first telescope? Do you have one standing in the corner of a spare room somewhere but never got around to using it because you didn’t know how? Did the instructions tell you how to put it together but failed to explain how to set it up properly, how to align it, and generally how to use it?
You are not alone. I was in exactly the same position a few years ago. Printed manuals, booklets and internet information can give you part of the picture, but nothing compares to a HANDS-ON demonstration, with an experienced amateur astronomer in your own backyard with your new equipment.
This is where the ATB lesson can help you. The lesson will help you get to know your new telescope. You will be given an overview of the sky and some very sound observing tips. Hopefully this will make your new hobby more enjoyable, right from the start and prevent possible damage to your new, often expensive equipment.
As an amateur astronomy entity, A.S.I.G.N hopes to share friendship and knowledge, especially to those just starting out. I sincerely hope A.S.I.G.N Observatory Telescope Basics can help you get started the right way on your journey of excitement and wonder of the stars!
